Big Bang (Hot Flow Yoga)
Experience an explosion of humidity and senses in Big Bang. It's a hot Vinyasa-based class with intermediate postures. For a less intense experience, try Big Bang Lite.
Big Bang is ALIVE's hot flow yoga class: vinyasa with intermediate postures, practiced at 98.6°F and 60% humidity. It combines the two halves of our schedule, the continuous breath-linked movement of a flow class and the full heat of our signature hot yoga room. The name fits: heat, humidity, movement, and sensation all arrive at once.
Flowing in a hot room changes the practice in both directions. The movement generates its own warmth on top of the room's, so you reach a deep, fully-warmed state faster than in any static class. The heat, in turn, makes every transition more demanding, turning a familiar flow into cardiovascular work. Our patented climate system holds the environment exactly at target, so the intensity you feel is the class, not a room drifting hot. The payoff is the deepest sweat-and-flow session we offer short of Photon's heat.
How Is Big Bang Different From Atom?
Same room, opposite structure. Atom holds still, working static postures one at a time. Big Bang never quite stops moving. If you're deciding between them: Atom builds depth and alignment; Big Bang builds endurance and rhythm. Many members keep both in their week and let each sharpen the other.
Is Big Bang Too Intense for Beginners?
It's an intermediate class, and the label means something. The postures scale in both directions, though, so all levels can work inside it: shrink a movement when the heat is winning, take the bigger variation when it isn't. What you get for the effort is stamina, range of motion, and walking out feeling open and energized. If you'd rather build up to it, two easier doors into the same building: Glow teaches the flow style in a milder room, and Big Bang Lite runs this class's format at a gentler intensity.
Who Big Bang Is For
- Flow practitioners ready for the hot room. If Glow feels easy and you want the full experience, this is the step up.
- Hot yoga regulars who want to move. Atom devotees looking for the same heat with momentum find their second home here.
- Sweat seekers. Movement plus 98.6°F and 60% humidity produces the most drenching class on our schedule. Some people are here precisely for that.
- Practitioners training endurance. Sustained flow in full heat is cardiovascular training, with heat adaptation compounding the benefit over time.
What to Expect
Minimal, moisture-wicking clothing and a full water bottle. Mat and towel provided. Expect continuous movement, intermediate postures, and the room's floor-to-ceiling video and curated sound carrying your focus through the hard middle stretch (coached vs immersive, explained). Pace yourself the first few visits; the heat compounds through the class.
How Often
Two to three classes a week, with recovery respected. Full-heat flow is the most demanding combination we run, so balance it with a gentler day: Glow, Electron, or a restorative Aura.
Where to Practice
Big Bang is offered at our Plano, Southlake, and Las Colinas locations.
